what is clutter costing you?
What are the “costs” of a cluttered home?
Let’s start with my definition of clutter. Clutter is when something doesn’t have a home. And usually, the problem for most people isn’t lack of organization, the problem is having too much stuff!
What could it be costing you?
Time
Space
Money
Energy
Relationships
Are you looking for things repeatedly? Are you buying duplicates because you can’t find or forget you have something? Are you tired from maintaining all the excess stuff? Are you not having friends over because you’re embarrassed by the state of your home?
Declutter more, not organize more.
Identify the things in your home that you value, and get rid of the distractions/noise/clutter. Find “homes” for those items you want/need/love. When clutter happens (because it does!), things will easily be put back in place; because everything has a designated place.
